Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of International Political Economy at the London School of Economics. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Columbia-Harvard China and the World Program at Columbia University and a Research Fellow with the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for the Study of Contemporary China. I received my PhD in Political Science from MIT in 2023.
My book project examines China’s efforts to accelerate its economic rise through foreign technology transfer policies. Broadly, I am interested in how technology and global value chains shape international political economy and security, with a focus on the rise of China.
Before MIT, I worked in political risk analysis. I hold degrees from Cornell University, where I was a member of the Telluride House, and the University of Chicago. I also studied at Sichuan and Fudan Universities. I was born and raised in Austin, TX.
